(STAT 402: Nonparametric statistics)

This course is an introduction to Nonparametric Statistics. It provides an overview of this branch of statistical inference, emphasizing applications of its techniques rather than the theory behind them.

The design of the course is made to develop students' understanding and skills of applying selected nonparametric statistical hypothesis testing and few confidence interval estimating procedures.

For each procedure the emphasis is on:

1. What the procedure is, how appropriate for both the type of the statistical problem and for the available data, and in addition what assumptions should be satisfied to apply the procedure.

2. Interpretation of the results of the analysis and the reporting of these results.
